I feel like since we go to Disneyland about once a month we've tried almost all of the restaurants there. Carnation Cafe is one of the last on the list and on our most recent trip we got to try it out.

Carnation Cafe is a sit down only restaurant. They do not have take out. On this particular day they also didn't take walk-ins. So what does this mean for you? As soon as you book your Disneyland trip and think you might want to eat here you should make a reservation. You can do this via the Disneyland website or the Disneyland App. I had checked the website and they didn't have any reservations but I kept checking the Disneyland App. This paid off. There was a late lunch reservation that opened up. Make sure you keep checking the app. #MMADTIP.
When the day arrived we were starving, so we decided to head to Carnation Cafe and check to see if we could check in early. Thankfully they said we could. We checked in and got a pager. They said we could walk up and down Main Street and still get buzzed.
When we were finally seated, it was outside. Keep this in mind for the cold and hot months. It was a little cold and unfortunately the heater lamp was broken. Hope they fix these kind of things.

I ordered the baked potato soup, $7. In the soup is bacon, chives, monterey jack, cheddar, and sour cream. It was creamy, delicious and warm on this very cold day.

I also had to try the infamous fried pickles with dipping sauce, $8. Dill pickle spears dipped in Parmesan and panko, fried until golden brown and served with a house sauce. If you like pickles you'll like this. They were crunchy and savory. The dipping sauce was a nice compliment.

Photopassguy picked the sourdough bacon-cheese melt, $17. Angus Chuck Patty, Pepper Jack Cheese, Grilled Onions, Hickory-smoked Bacon, and Spicy House Sauce on Grilled Sourdough served with your choice of fresh Fruit or Seasoned French Fries. He asked for a medium cook and it was more medium rare but still super awesome. The seasoned fries were so delicious. He liked it and said he would order it again.
Of course you saw the first picture we got a classic cherry malt, $7. It was very creamy and oh so delicious. Everything we had was excellent. We would go back. I would definitely make the reservation for as early as possible.
