To celebrate a few belated birthdays we decided to check out Aulani's character brunch at the Makahiki Restaurant.
While I have heard you could try walk-ins it is highly recommended to make a reservation.
We checked in and they gave us a ticket to bring to the next CMs to take our picture with Mickey and Minnie. *Note: Minnie may be out enjoying some sun and you may meet Mickey and Pluto. There is Photopass here to capture your photos. There is usually a character host who will also use your phone or camera to grab photos.

It depends how busy breakfast is, this section can move pretty quickly. Make sure you get all the photos you want.
After this we went back in to wait for our table. We waited 3 minutes before our name was called and taken to the 2nd photo spot.

Inside Goofy and Pluto were cooking up a storm. *If Pluto is meeting with Mickey, then It could be Goofy and Max or even chip and dale.
No Photopass here, There was a CM who rushed over to help snap a photo. Again this area moves quickly. This ends the character interactions. It'll be determined what will happen on April 18th as meet and greets will change to a closer interaction.
After this we were ushered to our table. Once seated there was a QR code on the table for the Breakfast and Dinner menus. I'm not sure what happens if you don't have a phone.
It is a pre-fix meal. You get a basket of pastries, a fruit plate, and your entree. You also get unlimited non-alcoholic drinks. Prior to this was a buffet.

Pastry basket. These were delicious.

Fruit plate.
This was a missed opportunity. They could have made some mickey shaped fruit etc.
The raspberries and black berries were tart. The strawberries weren't so fresh. The blueberries, pineapple, and cantelope were good.

I ordered the POG juice.

Kids waffles with bacon.

I ordered the buttermilk pancakes with bacon. When our server came back she told me this was the kid's portion and adjusted the prices. It was a lot and delicious.

This is the traditional omelet. It had bacon in it. A lot of bacon. The egg dishes come with a side of the Aulani potatoes. The potatoes were soooooo good.

We also got the Belgium waffle with Portuguese sausage.

Since we were celebrating birthdays they bought one of these for each birthday person. It's a funfetti bundt cake with chocolate ears and frosting.
Adults are $45.00
Keiki (Kids under 9) are $28
Parking- They do validate it's good for 2.5 hours of parking. Then it's $12 for the first hour and $5 for each hour after.
The meal is a little slow so you don't get much time to walk around and shop.
We did not order for baby b. She picked off our plates. She had some pastries and her own fruit plate and drink.
The kids portions are hugeee.
I do miss the characters coming around and you could take pictures with them. This one you only get to see them at the beginning of your meal. I think they could change it to meeting Goofy and Pluto on your way out.
The food is good. I would probably wait to see if they make changes after April 18th. When we called they didn't thing it was changing. Only the hotel meet and greets might change. Who knows.
I'll update this blog once I hear.

XOXO and see ya real soon,
Jasmine
