Meet me at the Mark Twain

Did you know if you ask nicely you can pilot the mark twain?
It has been on my bucket list for years. There was one day where my friend was at the right place at the right time.
We went early and were in the front of the line waiting for the next boat. There was a CM who was telling people it would be just a few more minutes before the next boat. Robert explained that there could be a total of 4 people who could go up to the top. We asked how do you get chosen and he said it was the pilot who chooses. As the boat came back around we were waving to the captain on the top.
Little did we know it was the CM Robert who would become the next captain.
As the boat docked, Robert said ok, follow me, do you still want to go up and pilot the boat? We of course said yes. There were 5 of us so my friend was nice enough to let us take the kids up to the top.

Once we got up to the top we got to look around. As the boat leaves the dock you get to turn the wheel. The view from the top is amazing. It offers a different perspective. As we were going around Captain Robert asked if we wanted to pull the horn.

He was very excited and this was really cool. You realize it's not just a prop. The boat is actually functioning.

We all got to sign the book which houses all the people who were able to pilot the Mark Twain.
It goes once all the way around.
After the boat docked back to where we started we got to see the under quarters.

We were sitting on a bed.

It is just so gorgeous in there.

And even photos of Walt.
Before we left we even received a certificate.

A big shout out to CM Robert for being an awesome CM and Captain.

This is a fun and once in a life time experience. If you get a chance to do it. I highly recommend it. Just to stand where Walt stood and experience it is unreal.
See ya real soon.
XOXO
The meet me traveler.
